Sunshine State

As I mentioned in my email, the news we reported on Florida was good news and challenging news to announce. CCA has been a trusted and accountable partner with the State of Florida for 15 years and with that, I am very proud that we will continue to operate Bay Correctional and will be able to bring two additional facilities into the CCA correctional system.

But it is difficult to lose an existing facility. I am so disappointed that we will not be able to continue operation of our Gadsden facility. I did a video conference with staff at Gadsden yesterday and I shared with them that the performance they have been able to achieve over the past 10+ has been outstanding. It was clear yesterday that staff there are committed ensuring a smooth transition between us and MTC.

Congratulations again to all who contributed time and effort to the successful expansion of our partnership in Florida, and thank you to all of our CCA employees for the proud, dedicated work you perform daily.

While it is hard, and hits way to close to home to lose a facility, it is promising to gain two more and have possible transfer options. Those who are at the Three facilities maintain your integrity and prove why we are the best. To those at Gadsden, it is more vital than ever to stay strong and prove who we are.
