Are you on the team?

In my position, I look at many metrics that measure our performance on regular basis. Operationally, financial, HR, etc. One metric I look at on a regular basis is our company's progress in lowering our workers' compensation costs. I am happy to report that we have done a tremendous job in this area. In fact, our total costs in 2009 for workers' compensation was lower than what we spent in 2001. That is amazing with the fact that our total number of employees during that same period of time has nearly doubled!

But we cannot be satisfied with that great progress. I know we can always do better. That is the reason I asked if you're on the team. Our Team Safety program requires that we are ALL on the team in promoting and demonstrating safety and awareness in our respective work areas. By doing that, we can achieve even greater success in managing our workers' compensation costs. So, are you on the team?
