Five Facilities Receive Final ACA Scores
At the winter 2010 American Correctional Association (ACA) Conference, five facilities received their final scores following the panel hearings. They are as follows:
-
Crowley County Correctional Facility 100%
-
Delta Correctional Facility 99.3%
-
Hernando County Jail 98.0%
-
La Palma Correctional Facility 99.3%
-
West Tenn. Detention Facility 99.7%
“Each of the facilities achieved the highest possible score that they could and the only non-compliant issues were the result of physical plant and rated capacity challenges over which the facilities have no control,” explains Jan Fuson, CCA consultant, ACA Auditing and Accreditation. “Crowley’s score of 100% is exceptional, but again, the other facilities did meet 100% of the standards that were within their means to meet.”
Ron Thompson, vice president, Operations (Business Unit I), says attaining accreditation starts with a commitment from facility leadership and requires sustained staff participation.
“Preparing for an ACA audit is an extremely arduous process that requires a lot of hard work from staff,” Thompson adds. “We’re fortunate to have outstanding employees who are committed to the process. We’re all very proud of these facilities’ accomplishments.”
At the ACA conference, the facilities were congratulated for their exceptional work.
