Thankful at 30

30th Anniversary Logo

Dear CCA Team,

We've come a long way.

Today we celebrate CCA's official 30th birthday and our anniversary theme, Thankful at 30: Our People, Our Passion, Our Partnerships, couldn't be more fitting because we have so very much to be thankful for as a company. As I reflect on our three decades in business, I'd like to share with you a few of the reasons why I'm thankful.

First, I'm thankful for you – the people who work hard each day to make CCA great. You've made this milestone possible and I truly appreciate your deep commitment to what we do. No matter what your position in the company – be it in security, medical, education or another area – you make a difference in so many ways.

Also, I've been thinking about the dozens of employees I've had the pleasure of working with over the past 20 years. I see their faces in my mind and I think about their efforts, the late hours they worked, the time they spent traveling. Many of these individuals are now enjoying retirement. I'm so thankful for their contributions; they helped us get to where we are today and we stand on their shoulders.

These folks were driven by a unique passion – a strong belief in the value of what we do. They had an enduring sense of duty toward our partners, our communities, and the men and women in our care. I'm thankful that this passion continues to drive and inspire us today.

I'm also thankful for our government partners. Our relationships with some of them go back to the 1980s. They've been with us since we were just an idea on paper. Some of these partners took a big leap when they decided to work with us; it probably was not politically viable for some of them but they had great confidence in our founders and now we have strong, thriving relationships with those folks.

I'm thankful for valued supporters like our investors. Every once in a while, I meet someone who tells me they were one of CCA's first investors. I appreciate those folks because they, too, took a big leap. They didn't know if our business was a passing fad or if it would turn out to be a long-term company.

As we celebrate CCA's 30th Anniversary together throughout this year, I hope you'll join me in reflecting on the many reasons we have to be thankful. Please add a comment to share your thoughts. I'd love to hear from you.

Whether you've been with the company for a decade or a month, I hope you'll embrace this special moment in our history as a milestone that belongs to all of us. I'm so proud to celebrate this time with all of you.

Sincerely,
Damon

Chaplain Jon Shonebarger at Adams:

I want to congratulate Mr. Hininger & the entire CCA Team as we reflect on a successful 30 year history. We are not only the best full service adult corrections system in the US, we are also providing a meaninful public service. Together we have, and will continue, to make a difference. Let's begin our 4th decade..TOGETHER!

Connie Russell at Graceville CF:

In these unpredictable times in our country and economy, I'm very grateful for my job. I feel lucky to work for CCA as they treat their employees well. With all our benefits and raises we receive, we should be grateful we all work for
CCA. Many companies have cut their employees back to part-time and the employees have lost all their benefits. We are served meals every once in a while and have recall meetings to keep us up to date on happenings in the prison. We frequently have drills and/or training to help keep everyone safe here. We have a great warden and most department heads do a good job of supervising their staff. They also take care of their own here. Happy Anniversary CCA!

Terry Underwood at CCA Davis Holdenville, OK:

This year I have been with CCA for 15 years. I enjoy coming to work everyday and it is nice to work for a company that is solid and I know will be there tomorrow.

Rena DelPrincipe at Mineral Wells PPTF:

The culture of "family" that CCA promotes has enriched the lives of many employees. The company has been very employee-oriented and even more so in the last few years.
CCA is rich with knowlegeable and talented employees and I am so grateful to be a part of the team.

Barbara Mask at Houston Processing Center:

CCA has contributed 30 years of financial security and growth to the Houston Ecomony. Our extended families (which are our suppliers/vendors) have enjoyed 30 years of financial security because our founding fathers choose Houston, Texas as the first city to began CCA's prosperous journey.

I am thankful for the five years inwhich I have been blessed financial at CCA.

My God continue to bless our decision makers with wisdom and knowledge to continue to bring prosperity
to our country.

Yvette Drew at Stewart Detention Center:

I want to join in saying Happy Anniversary to CCA. The company that gave me a life changing opportunity. Seven years ago I moved her from NY with only my possessions and my faith, no job in sight, . Just four short months later I not only had a job but a career. I had the pleasure of being a part of the opening of this facility from carrying mattresses, counting bullests, painting etc. I welcome a challenge, so while most people found this difficult, I found it to be exciting and rewarding being able to make our mark on this blank canvas. I started as an officer in 2006 and I've worked my way to Case Manager. I let everyone I encounter know I'm so blessed to work for such a great company.

Stephanie Tranum at Hardeman County:

I have only been working for CCA a year and a half but I have to say that I love it. I have met so many wonderful people and really love what I do.

Anna Bryan at Lake City Correctional Facidlity:

As a 12 year member of the staff at Lake City, I appreciate that I've always felt job secirity. During the past couple of years there have been so many people who had a job one and the next were layed-off. I 've never felt that was an issue with CCA. I always felt as long as I continued to do my job and be a supportive member of our medical staff I would have my job until the time comes when I decide to retire. My feelings are certainly support the partnership concept. Thank you for allowing me to be apart of this company.

Marcus A. Martinez at La Palma Correctional Facility:

As a new member of the CCA Family and coming up to my 4 year Anniversary , i would like to say my earliest memories of the company all reflected on the company picnics I attended with my uncle when he was with the company many years ago. The warm feelings and love we all felt being there, I wanted to be working somewhere that was grateful to their employees, that rewarded them, and treated them with respect. I have made the right choice and I am thankful for the job I have and how the company and especially the employees have been good to us all. Happy Anniversary CCA!!!

Cindy Diedrickson at Metro:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CCA!

Louise Grant at FSC Communications:

I'm here at Houston Processing Center celebrating CCA's birthday with a great and dedicated team of corrections professionals. I couldn't be more proud of my company. Here's to 30 more strong years!

Damon Hininger at FSC:
