Teamwork:
Noun
1. Cooperative or Coordinate effort on the part of a group or persons acting together as a team or in the interest of a common cause.
2. Work done with a team.

To me Teamwork is more than just another word found in the dictionary. When you work in the prison environment you have to depend on your fellow employees to have your back so to say. In my personal experience I have come to find comfort in knowing that I can depend on them and if I where to ever need them for anything they would be there and I would do the same for them. Teamwork is picking up where someone else may be lacking and forging on without pointing out their weakness. Teamwork is knowing you are not alone in any battle that may come. My cousin Derrick a proud veteran who recently returned from Iraq last year, showed me without words what teamwork really means. I went to his homecoming and the soldiers that stood before me had such unity about them, they had such pride and without teamwork they would have never made it home. My family here at Northfork holds a special place in my heart, they hold me together through heartbreak and pain, through struggles whether they are work related or home. I lost my Uncle in a house fire in June and I found great strength in my Northfork family. I would like to take this opportunity to say Thank You to my family here at this facility. Together we move forward never looking back, we are the definition of TEAMWORK.
