November’s CCA Way Contest Winners Named
“Share, inspire and help one another daily. Don’t let others down because together we make greater contributions.”
That’s how The CCA Way defines the teamwork we should exhibit daily both professionally and personally. In keeping with that theme, the winner for November contest is not one employee, but all of the employees at North Fork Correctional Facility. In November, six North Fork employees submitted entries that clearly demonstrate the facility’s ongoing commitment to teamwork – both at work and away.
In his submission, Roy Everett, correctional officer at North Fork described the importance of teamwork to his everyday duties and the support his co-workers provide.
“Here at North Fork Correctional Facility, accomplishing our goal of being the industry leader would be impossible without working together,” Everett wrote. “Due to time constraint and ACA requirements, I rely completely on the other staff members in the office to keep the disciplinary process flowing smoothly.”
Kimberly Blocker, correctional officer at North Fork, shared a story of co-workers rallying to help her in a time of need.
“My mother got ill and passed away and before I could pull myself together to figure out who to call and what to do, I received phone calls from my family at North Fork offering words of encouragement and offering to do whatever I needed them to,” she wrote.
