Herb Spiwak, VP of Health Services, to Retire
Herb Spiwak, CCA vice president, Health Services
Following a 32-year career in health care management, Herb Spiwak has announced his retirement from CCA as vice president of Health Services. Herb has brought a depth of operational and financial expertise in correctional health care management, and his leadership with our partners, health care teams and suppliers will be missed at CCA.
Herb joined us in 2007 as managing director, Health Services. In 2009 he was named acting vice president and in 2010 was appointed vice president. Before joining CCA, he served four years as a regional health administrator for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation following an impressive career in the private sector serving in management roles with hospitals and medical groups.
When Herb talks about his lasting impressions of CCA, he says he has valued how nimble the organization is in reacting quickly to find solutions that improve the quality of inmate care. Over the past several years, our health services division has experienced meaningful achievements, and one example is the implementation of Telemedicine as a new platform for health care delivery.
I want to personally thank Herb for his leadership, support and friendship. He has contributed so much to the operations of our company and to the leadership team. Though Herb lived in California for more than 20 years, he plans to remain in Nashville, at least temporarily, and says he is looking forward to vacation traveling.
Herb has agreed to remain with CCA until we have appointed his successor. Our search for Herb's replacement will begin by the end of this year.
Please join me in congratulating Herb on his well-deserved retirement.
