CCA Awarded Three Facilities in Florida
Four management contracts for partnership prisons in Florida, including Bay Correctional Facility and Gadsden Correctional Facility currently managed by CCA, were recently re-bid through a competitive procurement process by the Florida Department of Management Services (DMS).
CCA was awarded a continued management contract at our 985-bed, male Bay Correctional Facility in Panama City, Florida. Additionally, DMS has awarded CCA two other Florida prisons that were part of the procurement process: the 1,884-bed, male Graceville Correctional Facility in Graceville, located in Jackson County, which opened in 2007, and the 985-bed, male Moore Haven Correctional Facility in Moore Haven, located in Glades County, established in 1995. Currently these two facilities are operated by another partnership corrections provider, the GEO Group. CCA will begin management on August 1, 2010.
CCA's 1,520-bed, female Gadsden Correctional Facility in Quincy, Florida was, disappointedly, awarded to Management & Training Corporation (MTC). After 10 years of managing Gadsden Correctional Facility, MTC will take over management on August 1.
"I am very proud that we will continue to operate Bay Correctional and will be able to bring two additional facilities into the CCA correctional system," says CCA President and CEO Damon Hininger. "Simultaneously, it is difficult to lose an existing facility; our thoughts today are with all of our valued Gadsden employees."
Career advancement or transfer opportunities may be available to CCA staff. "Leadership positions, where available, will be our first priority," says Karen Sharpe, CCA Staffing.
If you are interested in applying for a leadership position, apply online through the FMSP process or complete a lateral transfer form (on MyCCA under staffing department). Select either start-up facility or Graceville and Moore Haven facilities.
Postings for additional vacancies will be identified and posted in the near future.
