A Foundations Surprise
Quite honestly, I was honored to be selected for Foundations but I did not expect to come out with a whole lot of new information. I have been around for a few years and have been fortunate enough to be exposed to several of good initiatives that seem to come and go.
I was surprised by the group that was in our class and picked up several great ideas from them. The energy and years of experience that was inside the room was great. It was beneficial to me to be around a group that was so hungry and driven. I am appreciative of the information that was communicated to us and in the manner it which is was presented. There were several messages that hit home with me.
The exercise that Ben Elrod put us through with the instructions to WIN AT ALL COST was eye opening when you slow down long enough to receive the message. There were several others but that was one that stuck with me. I enjoyed the class and feel like my batteries are recharged and we have some new techniques. I truly enjoyed the Chiefs and Assistant Wardens that were in our class.
The concept of what was presented by Jeb - CCA Messaging - was great. Our new messaging helps takes away the stigma of for-profit prisons. The poll results give support to what was said. I think it is a new way of communicating to the general public and will go a long way in tearing down the wall that will allow people to at least hear the message and the data that supports what we are: the best full service adult corrections company in the United States. In conjunction with that vision, we will be the best full service partnership company in the United States.
