The CCA Way - What it Means to Me
The CCA way means a lot of things to different people. There are three things that come to mind when I think how I can improve CCA and make it an option for other agencies as well as employees. Those three things are Honor, Courage, and Commitment.
When it comes to honor, Just being in this profession, weather it's private or not is a very honorable act. If you think about what we do everyday by keeping certain individuals in a safe and secure facility ensuring that they are not out in humanity causing any problems. In a way, we keep America safe just as the military members do but in a different way. That is pretty honorable if you ask me.
Then it comes to courage, I believe courage is not being scared to do something, I believe it IS being scared to do something but doing it anyway. We all work in a dangerous environment everyday. Everyday I put my boots on hoping that I will be taking them off at the end of the day by myself at home. We literally put our lives on the line so others don't have to, that is a great definition of courage.
Commitment is being committed to the job that you are doing at the time. The little things like coming into work on time, every time, doing the best job that you can do at all time but most of all, being committed to each other. We are a team no matter what your title is or your position. Together we keep that flame lit. This job is not easy, and sometimes it's not fun but when it's all said and done and you're at home sleeping safely, I like to think we had a part in that. The CCA Way.
