CCA looks forward to developing a successful partnership with Ohio and the Conneaut community, following the State's announced award of a contract to CCA for the purchase and operation of the 1,798-bed Lake Erie Correctional Institution, effective January 1, 2012. This award follows a competitive procurement process.

"We greatly appreciate the trust that Ohio has placed in CCA as a brand new corrections partner and are committed to ensuring a smooth transition that keeps public safety and inmate security top of mind," says Tony Grande, CCA executive vice president and chief development officer. "CCA has a longstanding track record as a strong employer and good corporate citizen in the dozens of communities we call home. We look forward to earning and maintaining that reputation in Conneaut for many years to come."

CCA has enjoyed a presence in Ohio for more than 14 years. In 1997, the company opened its Northeast Ohio Correctional Center in Youngstown, Ohio. More than 400 Ohio residents are employed at the 2,016-bed facility, which houses male, minimum-security inmates on behalf of the U.S. Marshals Service and the Bureau of Prisons. The Northeast Ohio facility is accredited by the American Correctional Association, representing the most rigorous national standards in corrections.
