CCA Announces New Partnership Awards

Four management contracts for partnership prisons in Florida, two of which – Bay Correctional Facility and Gadsden Correctional Facility – have been managed by CCA, were recently re-bid through a competitive procurement process by the Florida Department of Management Services (DMS). As a result, CCA will be expanding its partnership with Florida after having been awarded three of the four contracts by the DMS.

Specifically, the Florida Department of Management Services (DMS) intends to award CCA a continued management contract at the Bay facility in Panama City, Fla. Separately, the state intends to award CCA management responsibility for two other Florida prisons that were part of the procurement process and which are currently operated by the GEO Group.

Effective August 1, CCA will become the operator of both the 1,884-bed, male Graceville Correctional Facility in Graceville, Fla., located in Jackson County, which opened in 2007, and the 985-bed, male Moore Haven Correctional Facility in Moore Haven, Fla., which is located in Glades County, and was established in 1995.

CCA was not awarded a new contract for Gadsden Correctional Facility in Quincy, Fla., which the company has managed for more than 10 years. That facility will transition to the Management & Training Corporation (MTC) on August 1, 2010.
